During the NFL regular season the weekly MATCHUP  feature allows me to exhibit my “die hard” Dallas Cowboys spirit–and win or lose great sportsmanship–by showcasing something tasty from our weekly opponents homefield.  Fashion, Football, and Food.  Now that’s my kinda matchup!

FOOD MATCHUP:  Toasted Butternut Squash Ravioli | Gourmet April 1999 via

Have you ever eaten toasted ravioli?  I actually had not until this summer while dining with my track team in Orlando.  The St. Louis signature appetizer was created accidentally when a cook dropped raviolis into hot oil.  Boy am I glad he made that mistake. Yes the raviolis are actually “fried” but how can you go wrong with pasta, parmesan cheese and marinara sauce?

I’d been craving butternut squash all week.  So for today’s matchup I a made a scrumptious fall version of St. Louis’ crunchy appetizer-Toasted Butternut Squash Ravioli.  Don’t like squash? Use your favorite ravioli instead. Enjoy.

Seven is my favorite number and it’s week seven of Cowboy football.  So maybe just maybe we will toast or squash the Rams.  Can we please get a “W” today boys?  Thank you!

    Also nothing quite as good as toasted ravioli. Delicious!

  4. OMG! I love your pairing girl. Your blog is sooo much fun. And I have had almost everything fried, but haven’t had fried ravioli. I will mos def be give’n those bad boys a whirl. 🙂
